COne of the things that I enjoy the most about traveling is getting to know the places that I visit. I have found that there are many ways to see these places. Walking the streets, talking to the people, shopping or visiting historical sites and museums. There is so much to see. How you look can make a big difference. I often have the opportunity to visit Canada, and of all the ways that I have experienced this country, my favorite is cycling across Canada.
Canada is filled with interesting locations and beautiful people. You can find a great deal of cultural diversity just by traveling from city to city. However, one of the real treasures is in the landscape itself. There is rich beauty on the Canadian scene. Taking a bike ride along one of Canada’s bike trails lets you capture it all. This is a land that I have learned is as much made by its cities as it is by the spaces between them.
Some of my favorite trails include Ontario’s waterfront trail which has incredible views, and plenty of scenic rest stops along the way. I also really enjoyed the confederation trail for its change of landscapes and the Viking trail for its colorful mountains and sense of peace. The Kootenay Rockies also host an excellent set of woody trails for those with the legs to brave them.
These are great places to unwind and find your balance after a hard work month. Nothing helps me unplug better than a day enjoying the trail and getting in a touch of exercise. Having traveled extensively, these cycling trails are still some of my favorite places to go. Much like Hawaii, the best places are usually places that only the locals know about. For Canada, these special places are often cycling trails. They are open to anyone, but not many people know just how incredible they are.
I was first turned onto these trails by a friend who took me along for a cycling trip. We stopped by a few shops and quickly found everything that I needed. I quickly learned that they were outfitted for anyone’s needs, so I didn’t have to bring my own bike every time I traveled in. I tend to favor the 7 speed road bike and found that they were surprisingly well outfitted in most of the towns connecting the trails. Sometimes finding bikes for larger guys or finding cruiser bikes for sale can be rough but I never had trouble finding bike shops with everything I needed from bike repairs to rentals and even high-quality purchases.
Having grown up in a desert, I know that biking without much scenery can grow old. Canada has a landscape that I just couldn’t see enough of, and it changes from trail to trail and mile by mile. are I have never seen anything so beautiful, and I don’t miss a chance to hit a trail or bring a friend.
